XML Banner Rotator

This is a highly customizable XML Banner Rotator with more than 35 XML options, including the masking size and speed.

You can control the position of the elements on the screen, the number of images, as well as the colors - all from XML.

As always, you can use this Flabell Flash Component in any size you need, as well as in other HTML or FLA files.

Yes, you can put it in any website as long as you set the right code in the webpage. This tutorial explains the process:

No matter how many times I try and publish this it still says

"In order to view this object you need Flash Player 9+ support!"

My flash player is up to date, so I don't know what's wrong.

Hello,

I'm pretty sure that some paths are wrong. It's either the path to the swfobject.js file or the path to the SWF. It's either this or maybe you have some JS errors.

This Banner Rotator super cool, i installed it in my website and its working fine, one problem though, i couldnt change the size of the banner, in the XML code its

banner width = "" height = ""

i filled it with numbers

banner width = "550" height = "150"

But its not changing, can you help me out please?

Hi. Please make sure you adjust it's size in the HTML, where you embed it. If you want to change it's size in the XML, you would only do that if it would be used within a different Flash file.

Thank you for this great Banner Rotator.

But my problem is that every text (legend and numbers at the bottom) disappears for always after an opening in the flash CS3.
I need to use Flash CS3 to modify the size.

Do you know what happened ?

Hello,

I can only assume what happened. We used an embedded font in Flash CS4 for all textfields. When you opened the file in CS3, Flash assigned bad fonts to all text fields (I'm thinking it's the default Times New Roman). What you can do is find all text fields in the component and re-assign the embedded fonts we used. They're marked with '*' (star characters in the fonts list).

Hope this will solve the problem.

How do I install & use this? I downloaded it, but it is just a folder with no .exe file. If I need to save the folder somewhere, where? Then what file do I click to open it? I'm really looking forward to trying this but I need to know how to get started.

We get the files in you need right into the downloaded zip file. We don't have any .exe files as this is a simple web module to install in a page.

Hi there

I have tried to change the height and width of the banner using the xml banner height and banner width parameters. I have also tried altering it by changing the DIV style parameters in html to what i needed. I even tried adjusting all the pictures to the size i require. Still it doesn't want to change... I need it to be 1000 wide by 150 high. Any idea where i am going wrong?

I got a it working and it looks great.
Though I am stuck at numbers on slide bar- you have it here 1-to-20 I just want 1-to-5. I not able to find out know what is the variable to change the number count.

Hi. There is no such features. The navigation updates based on the width of the banner and the number of elements.

Hello,

I am trying to add this rotating banner to my website here:

Initially I was trying to find a way to convert the XML code to HTML code which I can embed onto my website but I have yet to find a site that shows me how to do this.

After reviewing the "How to embed a Flabell component in your HTML webpage" adding the deploy folder to my website's "file manager" folder will most likely not work.

As it stands, I am not sure what my best route is here. Any tips you can provide would be helpful and very much appreciated. Thank you.

Hi. Why wouldn't it work to add the files as we explain in the article?

There's no such thing as converting the XML to HTML. You need to follow the instructions we provided.

Because IE is such a bad browser. :)

I recommend you use an updated version, or a different browser - Chrome, Safari, Firefox.

Thanks, I do use Chrome most of the time but I can't be sure that my visitors will! I'll leave them a message to try a better browser if they have problems ;)

This thing with ActiveX is a "solution" Microsoft found for people that have Flash in their website, so they require it in order to display it. Strange, I know.

We're using IE only when we test stuff, but other than that I would say it's dying.

Note: we added new variables, while other variables were either moved or removed. After the redesign, all help files will be updated.

This page will be updated, but in the meantime you can read below what each XML variable means: 

slideShowTime - how much should a picture stay

startWith - with what picture the slideshow shouhld start

backGroundColor - slideshow background color

backgroundTransparency - slideshow background transparency

cellWidth - width of the grid and net shape(in this example the shape is a square)

cellHeight - height of the grid and net shape(in this example the shape is a square)

showMintTime - the minimum time for a transition

showMaxTime - the maximum time for a transition

blur - amount of blur applied to the net

neTime - how much time should the net should stay

alphaNet - amount of transparency applied to the net(0 - invisible, 1 - visible)

captionTransparency - amount of transparency applied to the title+body+button background

controllerTransparency - amount of transparency applied to the controller background

overColor - controller buttons over state color

outColor - controller buttons out state color

normalColor - controller buttons out state color

grayColor - controller buttons selected state color

buttonAlpha - amount of transparency applied to controller buttons

captionButtonAlpha - amount of transparency applied to, in this case, "read more" button

padding - caption's inner padding

thumbY - y offset for controller's buttons

controllerX - X offset for controller

controllerY - Y offset for controller

captionX - X offset for caption

captionY - Y offset for caption

controllerHeight - controller's height

distanceBetweenControllerElements - distance between controller's elements
