Simple as3 flash video player

This is a simple video player built with AS3, that supports advertising, rtmp, h264 files including HD files, and it's completely customizable through a simple XML file.

The player can play a video passed as parameter to the "init" function. 
It also can play an intro video before the actual video.
 If there is a preview image passed in the HTML, the the player will show it. It comes with a lot of features which can easily be changed using the XML file (size, colors and other options). It has support for sharing and fullscreen display.

The video player supports H264 files, as well as RTMP and can play mov, mp4, flv files.

- play/pause button (clicking on the video does the same action)
- timer/total time
- draggable volume bar with scrub
- draggable progress bar with scrub
- share (embed code)

- fullscreen
- download button
- auto-hide controls when there is no mouse interaction and on leaving the swf
- disable buttons
- custom colors

If you play an MP4 file streamed with RTMP protocol please add the "mp4:" extension in front of the file name like this:

flashvars.videoPath = "mp4:sfexamples/videos/bbb_640x360_h264.mp4";

Otherwise the stream will not work. If you find any other bugs, let us know. :-)

Hi. We didn't implement this, only RTMP. You can download the file and test it locally before you purchase it though.

I noticed that the main.as file was not included within the download zip file upon purchase , but instead the sample.as file is included. I would need the main.as file. Please help.

We replaced Main.as with Sample.as. The video is a bit outdated, but we'll update it very soon.

Please make sure you copy the code from there instead. It's a different name, but actually the same file. ;)

ok..so i thought it was an issue with my server..however i tried it now with a different server, uploading the PURCHASED folder "deploy" onto the server and still have got nothing(not altering anything)..just plain white square. u can check it out: http://ledesign.info/deploy/
So im assuming your preview.swf that is within the ziped purchased folder probably didnt get swapped out with the demo preview swf. I have tried everything, read the FAQ, yet, this player does not work for me?? Please help!

The swf is now showing up and is looking like this:

In contrast to the demo swf you guys have, it has a:
1) red play button instead of the grey,
2) there is no logo image showing
3) It is missing the back and forward buttons
4) and fullscreen image button is different.

Please see below for the demo that u guys have and what I would also like to have upon purchase:



PLEASE HELP! The preview image is showing up, and I did not alter the logo image link, which should be showing up, but isn’t. Again the url to my testing site for your flash player is : http://ledesign.info/deploy/
(please let me know if u need the ftp info) I really like this idea for the player, but would love to have it working as you have demo’ed it on your site.

Hello,

I bought the Flash components "Simple AS3 Flash Video Player" on your site.
Initially, I worked locally to adapt my project to the video player. I had no problem seeing the results on my local machine. Everything worked perfectly.

I posted the draft on my web server and then the video player does not work no more.
I think it can’t upload the video file, the XML files and all other variables.

I think I have a problem with "flashvars.pathToFiles".

However, I tried to change this variable and make it empty to catch the absolute URL.

I may be the same problem truele007. The source file is protected.

Can you send me a file not protect please?

Can you be kind enough to respond very quickly ?
I have to deliver the project to my client on thursday 29 april, and it should be available online in the following days.

Sorry guys, I updated the file. The preview was still protected as the demo. I removed the protection, and it should work now.

Please make sure you download the files again.

Simple AS3 Flash Video Player - tips and tricks

This Flash Video player contains a handful of features and settings. It is easy to use the file in your own Flash projects or as an independent Flash object on your html based website.

For example you can use it as an independent component, inside a flash video gallery, to play a new video by clicking on a thumb. You can do this by calling it's "loadMedia" function with the four parameters: "videoPath", "streamer", "imagePath", "introPath", "logoPath", "logoLink". All parameters are optional.

The player contains listeners for keys like:

     f - for fullscreen
     m - for mute button
     s - for share button
     space - for play / pause toggle
     left, right arrows for back and forward (5 seconds, adjustable)
     up, down arrows to adjust the volume
