Please download the files one more time. We updated the component to include a new SWF that has no background.
That background was used just for presentation purposes.
Also I recommend using the code from our index.html file, like our tutorial here explains:
http://www.flabell.com/blog/1829/how-t...
It will make the component work on every browser. Plus you need to specify the paths to its resources and all the flashvars. The values in the XML file are not taken into consideration. To change the size of the component you'll just need to set the componentWidth and componentHeight flashvars.
This is what we do in our index.html file. There are other methods using the code that you used to embed the component, but it will be simpler to just copy/paste our code.
Please let us know, if it gives you more trouble. We'll help you as soon as possible.

You can do this through flashvars, like we did in our index.html file from the deploy folder.
flashvars.pathToFiles = "ticker/"; // component settings xml path flashvars.xmlPath = "xml/ticker.xml";Note that the path to the XML file is built using the pathToFiles flashvar. It will be pathtoFiles+xmlPath. That's relative to the webpage where the component is embedded in.

Sorry, but the component doesn't read RSS feeds. If you need our help we can implement the feature by doing some custom work for you. If you're interested, please send an email at info@vuzum.com. We'll reply ASAP and discuss the project with you.

This might happen when you try to open a link from a flash component, on a local machine. On the server it works, but not on the local machine. This is a security measure Adobe takes, by default. It doesn't permit the flash player to access external resources, when you run the component on your computer. If you want this to change, please go to this link:
http://www.macromedia.com/support/docu...
and add a new location, which would become trusted. That would be the folder which contains the SWF files you're working with.
If the links don't open with your component available online, please share a link to it. We'll inspect it and find a solution for you.
