Great ticker. Any way I can make it so it is not a link, but only scrolls the text?

Sure. Simply add no url in the XML.

I'm actually wondering the same thing. If I remove the link_url from the ticker.xml file it displays as a link still on the website. If the user clicks the item, it opens a new blank tab.

An example of one item that I'm trying to remove the link from is below. I'm hopeing there's a way to make it plain text that's scrolling instead of a link (to nowhere).

Reminder: System downtime this weekend from 10 PM Saturday until 5 AM Sunday.

When that item loads in the ticker, it appears as a link like all the others and clicking on it results in a new blank tab.

Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

Hi,

We updated the component. It will not open the empty tab now. If the link is not defined, it won't do anything.

Please download the zip file one more time and just update the old SWF file you used with the new updated version.

Thank you for the reply, I think I'm almost there, I have the code

import com.vuzum.Ticker;

var pathToFiles : String = "ticker/";
var xmlPath : String = "xml/ticker.xml";

mcTicker.init(350, 25, pathToFiles, xmlPath);

the following error is showing:

TypeError: Error #1006: init is not a function.

Help me!!

Hello:)

This News Ticker is totally great! The only one sad thing for me is that it's made in AS3:'(

Is there any way somehow to.. maybe..convert it into AS2?..
Thank you!

Sorry, but no. We don't do any AS2, as it's a deprecated and slow language. Why not switch to AS3? :-)

Hi, this is great! Can I change the text to an image?

Nope.

You might want to check our continuous image slider though. It does exactly this, with images.

Hi there,

The ticker is really nice. But I was hoping to find an swc file for the same with properties editable from the Components Inspector.

Since my project is already huge with my own source code and a couple of external open source libraries, can you please consider deploying a customizable swc of the same?

The short answer is no. We only do AS3 SWF files.

I am using the file with the large background. How can I change the ticker from the center of the stage to say the top or bottom?

Thanks, and great product!

It's not to be used like that, but if that's how you want it, check Sample.as. The code to reposition it is there.

That's what i thought. I looked but all I could find was the StageScaleMode and StageAlign, but i played around and couldn't change it. I'm still new to AS3, any help would be appreciated.
