Hi Is it possible to increase the width on the scroll? i changed the setting in the xml file but it only increases the black back round box but does not increase the scroll is increasing the scoll possible can u explain how? i went to xml and changed the width

Hi,

Please download the files one more time. We updated the component to include a new SWF that has no background.

That background was used just for presentation purposes.

Also I recommend using the code from our index.html file, like our tutorial here explains:

http://www.flabell.com/blog/1829/how-t...

It will make the component work on every browser. Plus you need to specify the paths to its resources and all the flashvars. The values in the XML file are not taken into consideration. To change the size of the component you'll just need to set the componentWidth and componentHeight flashvars.

This is what we do in our index.html file. There are other methods using the code that you used to embed the component, but it will be simpler to just copy/paste our code.

Please let us know, if it gives you more trouble. We'll help you as soon as possible.

What I'm asking for.. how can I pass the xml content to your flash component ?

Hello,

You can do this through flashvars, like we did in our index.html file from the deploy folder.

flashvars.pathToFiles = "ticker/";
// component settings xml path
flashvars.xmlPath = "xml/ticker.xml";

Note that the path to the XML file is built using the pathToFiles flashvar. It will be pathtoFiles+xmlPath. That's relative to the webpage where the component is embedded in.

Hello. Thanks for this wonderful piece of work. All seems to work fine and the customisations are more than enough. Using a cron job and some php I was able to convert RSS to XML and feed the file, the ticker works like a chams. Good work ! Kudos !

You're welcome. We're glad to see you happy with the component. Enjoy it!

Can i run an rss feed in this ticker? The ticker is really great and it will be cool if it could read rss feeds.

Hello,

Sorry, but the component doesn't read RSS feeds. If you need our help we can implement the feature by doing some custom work for you. If you're interested, please send an email at [email protected] We'll reply ASAP and discuss the project with you.

hey, The links in the ticker xml are not opening when being clicked upon. Not even in the original download file. Is there any way to fix that?
