Custom Star Rating Component

This is a minimalist rating system, with highly customizable properties. You can use the XML file to change the colors, the text, the size of the elements, as well as the number of stars and their value.

Note: the component is the element with the stars, not the black background or the title, which we used for display purposes only.

In this example we decided to make the component cookie based. This means if you clear your cookies, you can vote again. :-)

The component comes with the PHP file, so you can edit this to save the vote where and how you want. Right now the votes and their rating is saved back in the settings XML (where it's read from).

The validation link was sent to the payer email address (the PayPal email you used to pay with). So if you paid with [email protected], that's where the activation email was sent.

Please add [email protected] to your address book, and click on resend activation email button from your Flabell/ThemesBell account.

Also, please make sure you check the spam / junk folders too.

If that does not work, I can email the activation link directly to the email address which you used to pay with.

Hi, I have the same issue. I dont know how to change the backgroud. I need the stars to fit nicely on a 218wx34h place holder. And if possible what folders should I upload. Should I include everything including the help file? Thanks.

Hi,

If you need to change the background for the component, you'll need to change it in the project.fla file, if you use Flash CS4 or higher, or projectCS3.fla, if you use Flash CS3.

If you don't have Flash, please send an email at [email protected], share with us the placeholder background and we'll send you the updated component.

To use it, you don't need to upload everything. You need only the deploy folder on your server.
