The product has been updated. We fixed several bugs related to the way the images were moving, which was causing an empty space. If you downloaded this product before today, please redownload it from you account. It contains the latest files.

Skelington11, please open the slider.xml file. There you can set the description to each image, like this:

Add your text here. It supports html tags as well.

To change the size of the component, if you use it in html please edit this code inside index.html:

var stageW = 560;
var stageH = 356;

If you want to use it inside another Flash project, you can edit the size of the component in the XML as well:
                width = "560" height = "356"

Hi,
I want to use this produce using image settings in ASP.NET (read html for practical purpose). How can I set the image source and size directly in HTML Page?
Regards,
Avikal

Dear Avikal, in order to set the XML directly through ASP, or PHP, or any other language, what you need to do is output the XML content to the swf file, when this calls the XML path.

I'm trying to install this component for my friend who purchased it. I'm very experienced in Flash and AS2 (not AS3). I can't seem to get your component to work right no matter what I do. We upgraded her Flash site from AS2 to AS3-- that part seems to be working fine.

I followed your video tutorial several times trying to add your component into her site, and finally noticed that you left out at least one major step-- you have to copy over the library items from the projectCS3.fla to our own fla file.

Now the slider appears, but only works partially. The mouseover area for moving right is larger than the slider, and the mouseover area for sliding left doesn't work at all.

I thought maybe something was wrong with our main file, so I tried creating a new, blank fla and redid every step again (several times) and all I get from it are compiler errors: 1151: A conflict exists with definition mcMask in namespace internal.
I get an error like that for lines 38-42 of Slider.as in this new, otherwise blank fla.

Here's how far we've gotten on her site so far. Simply click the main image to get to the slider: http://majesticimaging.com/lissa/
This has been quite frustrating. We'd certainly appreciate any help. Thanks.

File updated:

Looking at Lisa's files, we found two bugs related to how the file was working inside another Flash project. We fixed them and updated the source files.

Please make sure you download the latest files from your Downloads tab.

In the .xml file, you said I can put HTML tags. I tried the following:

Mountain view

but the text is still in black and not italics.

Please help. Thank you!
Kevork

Hi. Note you cannot use strings as in HTML for colors. You need to use the hexa code.

Also, if you plan on using tags like Italic, you need to use a device font that all users have installed on their machine, otherwise the text won't be italic, because the embedded font is not Italic. Let me know if this makes sense.

Which files do I actually require as for a PC there are loads of junk MAC files in the ZIP. I assume I need the .FLA projext file and the XML file but is there anything else required plus I cant find a readme. Do you have a PC download available with just the required files?

The MAC creates these files exactly as the PC creates the thumbs.db on a MAC. There are no PC or MAC files, when it comes to Flash.

You can delete the ds_store files. What you need to keep is the deploy and source folders, as well as the FLA.

Plus, if you keep the MAC files, nothing wrong happens. ;-)

Hi. I believe you set the pathToFiles variable wrong. Please check in our FAQ section in the footer, the article related to it. Please let us know if you can't figure it out, and send us a link to your website.
