Prevent page refreshing when using SWFFIT

For our fullscreen flash websites, we usually use SWFFit in order to make sure our content is still visible if you browse from a smaller screen computer. SWFFit is a smart script that resizes your flash movie automatically if your browser window size is smaller or greater than your flash minimum desired size keeping it accessible independent of screen resolution.

Using Flash Sound Visualizer

I’d like to talk a bit about the issues we had when building our third product, Simple Flash Mp3 Player.

simple_flash_mp3_player_sound_visualizerAs you obviously noted, we used a nice sound visualizer which reacts to the sound played in the flash file. Lucky the necessary functions are implemented in Flash CS3 and newer versions.

The thing that was a bit difficult to understand was the way it works. And I will explain so you can understand why we did what we did.

Flabell – Improvements

Over the last couple of days, we’ve been hard at work and improved the website interface a bit more.

We added:

1. Twitter direct link in the left side of the page. Please subscribe to be notified of new products, updates, or anything else related to Flabell.

2. Download counter for each product – as many of you guys requested this.

3. Direct links to details page – now you can go directly to the comments or any other pages you need.

4. You can now login with your username OR the email you used to sign-up. The password is the same for both login options.

Hope you enjoy the new features. Let us know at [email protected] or in the comments below if you have anything else you think it’s mandatory.
Patrick Riley, thank you for your feedback! :)

ActionScript 1:1 – Lesson 1

We’re trying to lead the Flash Stock Market to using ActionScript 3 for the components released to the users, as we want to take advantage of all the new AS3 functionality in our own products too. As long as companies push AS2 files out there, the users will keep using AS2 content and making the switch to the better, faster and more improved language will take even longer.

To help you get up and running with the new ActionScript version, we’re going to be posting useful video tutorials which we think are going to be helpful for your learning.

Our first video is from Adobe TV, and it’s called ActionScript 1:1 – enjoy!
