Flabell Flash Components – WordPress Plugin

This week, inspired by some work done on a similar market, we thought it would be a nice touch to develop our own WordPress Plugin (for PHP 5). We submitted the plugin to WordPress, and I will edit the post as soon as the plugin is up.

You can use this plugin to promote Flabell’s products, with your referral ID, which will earn you 50% of the first purchase of each new user.

Flabell Flash Components Settings

The Flabell Flash Components plugin retrieves items thumbnail from Flabell and shows them as a sidebar 80px square thumbnail gallery.

Installation

1. Upload the flabell folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
2. Activate the plugin through the Plugins menu in WordPress
3. To display the gallery anywhere in your blog, you can paste the following code

The steps for adding the plugin to your website, are as follows:

1. Choose files type (you have 3 options):

a) latest files (displays the latest files by date);
b) popular files (displays the most downloaded files);
c) keyword (displays the files that have the keyword in their title: eg. mp3 player);

NOTE: If you select Keyword you will need to add a second parameter, which will be the string to search in the products titles.

2. Choose view (here you have 3 options as well):

a) all (displays Flabell’s free and commercial products);
b) commercial (displays only the commercial products);
c) free (displays only the free products);

3. Choose gallery’s number of items (max 20):

You can choose any number between 1 and 20. If there will be less items than the chosen number, only those items will display.

4. Referral User ID (optional):

If you want to add your referral ID to the end of the links, just enter it below or leave it blank as it’s not required. By using your ID, you can earn money for each new user you bring to Flabell. To get the ID for your username, sign in on Flabell, and in the Referrals tab, copy the number at the end of the Referral Link field. (eg. http://www.flabell.com/?referral=34)

5. Select title’s heading:

This is used for the title above the gallery.

6. Add your title (optional):

Add any text you want, such as Flabell’s amazing Flash Components.

7. Edit the CSS file (optional):

Add the proper CSS to your stylesheet to make it look good. The file you can edit for this is flabell_products.css

That should be it. On the left side of this blog you can see a working version of the plugin, that will always show the latest commercial files from Flabell.
