Flash Mp3 Player Playlist

Flash Mp3 Player

This is a fully customizable MP3 Player, built with support for multiple Artists and Albums. Everything is XML customizable, including size, colors, speed and transition effects.

This Flash Mp3 Player contains a handful of features and settings. It is easy to use the player in your Flash projects or as an independent Flash mp3 player on your website. It is as easy as moving some actionscript files around, and dragging the movieclip containing the Flash player in your Flash file. We provide precise instructions in the help file that comes with the download.

Skinning the Mp3 player

Skinning is very simple as well. To edit the file you don’t need any Flash experience, as all the settings are loaded from an external XML file, which you can edit with any text editor. You can change the colors of the elements, the speed of the effects, the size of the images, the size of the mp3 player, add or remove features to the player, and much more.

As an example, you can disable the SHARE button in the XML file, and the control bar will automatically resize to fill the empty space on the right of the Flash Mp3 Player.

Playlists, artists and albums

The playlists are also loaded from an external XML file, so you can add unlimited artists and albums.

Audio Volume

The user can quickly turn on/off the audio, or change the volume by dragging the volume bar. The music will fade in/out between the values. When the user comes to the player again, the volume is already stored in his cache, and the mp3 player will start from that value.

Player source code

The code is very well commented, written following the best OOP practices, and the downloaded file comes with all the assets used to create the Flash Mp3 Player such as the fonts, the PSD source files, and the Flash source files.

Features:

- Streaming – starts playing before the song is fully loaded
- Seek bar for displaying song progress
- Shuffle songs
- Share Mp3 Player
- Download button with customizable link
- Buy button with customizable link
- Volume slider with cache support
- Mute button
- Customize auto-play, volume  start value and display text through XML file.
- Customize playlist through XML file
- Unlimited number of albums/artists and songs
- Colors are customizable from XML
- Speed of effects customizable from XML
- Size of images customizable from XML
- Scrolling auto-start customizable from XML

Note: The songs used in this file are samples, under 30 seconds for legal reasons. You can easily update them in the XML file.

Yeah, now that’s totally chill! :-)
I’m loving the Flash player you guys! Great job.
We love the new additions and features.

Question…As you know Visionspro.com will be purchasing some of your products. :-) For credit, should we use the Flabell logo or do you have a special logo for credits, using your files for site linkage.

Hi Morgan. Good question and actually, excellent idea!

I will write a new post right now, and upload both the Flabell logo and the Bell mascot in PNG format, and I would be pleased if you would use them to link back to us.

This is by far the best mp3 flash player on the web. I would like to see somebody create the ultimate mp3 player. One that displays all the info from the mp3′s id3 tags; like lyrics, album art, album, year, artist and artist bio. Keep up the good work

Thanks for the compliments! In this player we read the info from XML because not all mp3 files have their id3 tags info, but here’s how you can overwrite the values from the arrays, with info from the id3 tags:

Hi Amin! Would you mind if I ask you to resubmit the question in the comments tab, on the file’s detail page?

This way we can keep all the feedback there, and provide answers to all potential users.

Many thanks! I will reply as soon as I hear back from you – either me or one of my team members.

Great Product! As a web developer this flash music player blew my mind. The code was incredibly easy to read and understand for when it came down to making some tweaks and customizing it.

I recently added this flash player to my personal music blog you can check it out here: http://www.themusicninja.com/

Thanks a lot. Keep up making awesome flash components!

Thanks for visiting the blog, I believe that I am disabling access to that xml folder through the apache .htaccess file. Are you going to be using php? or .net for your website. There are many ways to block people from viewing the files but to give you further instructions I need to know what you will be using.

Feel free to contact me at blas at themusicninja.com
Thanks

You need to pass a different id to each swf instance, and also pass different XML in the html.

Hey just downloaded the MP3 and it looks and works great! Excellent work guys!

Can I ask is anyone knows or has a php file that can populate the XML used for the playlists?

If I can get hold of that I would be the happiest man on the earth! Thanks so much and thanks again for such a great product for FREE! Ill be sharing this with a fair few people!

Big Problem!
I have the following CPU-Usage by using the Flabelle Flash mp3 Player (IE and Firefox has the same result):
Athlon XP2800 = 90-95%
Athlon X2 2*3.2GHz = 40-45%
Is that normal? Where is the problem?

Kalle,

Please try the new AS3 version. The CPU usage issue has been solved.

bobocel

November 3, 2009 at 2:24 am

Yes, we know. AS2 is CPU intensive. We’re doing an AS3 version, and we’ll make sure it’s as optimized as it can be.

Thank you for your feedback!

I have a script that uses a php file to pass xml info to the player but I cannot get the player to accept the php file for flashvars.xmlPath. Will this extension simply not work with your player or is there a way I can enable it by editing the source a publishing a new swf? I have this working with 4 other flash players, btw.

Hey,

Great stuff and a fantastic mp3 player, so happy i have found it!!! looking forward for more.

my questions are :is the download link button when i press it dosnt download the song from my site (all the files are on the server) it only open another page to play the mp3, is there a way/code to make people download the mp3 once they pressed, instead of opening it in another page?

can the player be resized, say if i have 20 songs and i would like it to be bigger, i was playing around but didnt find a way to make the playlist biggger?

Best

What is the easiest way to embed this player to my html site?

Reply

bobocel

December 19, 2009 at 8:42 am

<>theGrindLab.com, this should work if done right. Make sure you respect the XML structure when you output it through PHP.

Luis, use the embed code provided inside the index.html code.

Graycell, that’s something specific to browsers. The browser opens the mp3 which means it’s allowing the users to save it by clicking the save as button.

If you put the mp3 inside a zip, it should download it as you intend to.

Regarding resizing, the player is resizable but it respects the proportions we used. Set it’s size inside HTML.

Hello. is this player done in AS3 already?
And I also have a problem since I come from a Eastern Eu country so i have problems with the characters/letters. They are not properly seen. Instead of letters blank squares and similar things are seen.
I use this code in my xml’s.

Thank you for your ansvers.

flyingblue,

The player doesn’t support Chinese characters. The only way to do that is to embed the fonts in a manner that works only in Flash CS4 but we don’t provide this as users still use Flash CS3.

Hey nice work:)
I really like the player.. I was wondering if the display of the albums can be changed to something like the itunes coverflow.. is it possible?

Here’s a nice example:
http://www.weberdesignlabs.com/blog/2009/12/flash-10-coverflow/

Can anybody change the display to something like the coverflow?

That would look cool i guess.
Thanks

Imad,

We do have a coverflow on Flabell(http://www.flabell.com/flash/Coverflow-Scrollbar-Component-286) and it could be integrated inside the player if you have some flash skills instead of the current albums gallery.

Yes, there is a way, but you’d need to change some ActionScript code to accomplish this. The button would have a different logic and this cannot be changed with an XML property.

If you need our team’s help on this, we can do it as custom work. Please send an email at info@vuzum.com, if you’re interested.
